Cottage Pie is a classic British recipe, consisting of minced beef covered with mashed potatoes and baked in the oven. This Cottage Pie Recipe is a firm family favourite - comforting, winter food at it's best!
Cottage Pie Recipe Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 450g minced beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 90ml red wine
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1/2 pint beef stock
  • 100g frozen peas (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon freshly chopped thyme
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 900g potatoes
  • 50g butter
  • 100ml milk
